How to get super fast unlimited internet in your van.

So I thought that I would write a blog post to show everybody how to get super fast unlimited internet in there vans.


As I am a photographer and cinematographer I really need a fast reliable internet connection so I can work from the road, upload and download. I did a lot of research into what would be the best solution for me so I wont have lagging problems and take days just to download a movie.


I think what I have come up with is perfect for me but may be overkill for somebody with more basic internet needs, if this is the case please take a look at this post instead





Ok so first i'll start with my super fast unlimited internet for your van. For this you will need to buy a few bits and pieces.


The first thing you will need is the NETGEAR Nighthawk MR1100 4G Router.

This is an amazingly fast 4G Router, It has download speeds of up to 1GB per second and connect to up to 20 devices at a time. This is why it is important that the sim card we use in it is unlimited so you don't get a huge bill.

It is completely portable so not only can you have it in your van if you go out you can just put it in your pocket and use it anywhere. It has a built in rechargeable battery that has up to a 24 hour battery life depending on use and you can leave it plugged into the mains in your van via the provided usb cable so its always on. You can even take the battery out whilst its plugged in so the constant charge can not harm the battery.




The next thing you are going to need an Antenna, the best one you can get would be this one below. It is omni directional so you don't need to know which direction your closet mast is and is probably the best on the market for 4g LTE

Finally the last thing you are going to need is a sim only phone contract with unlimited data. At the time of writing this an unlimited plan will set you back roughly £36 per months without and speed restrictions and with fully unlimited data. You can find it cheaper though I will go into more detail.


I'll try and show you what to look out for when taking out your sim only deal as the deals change all the time so what I show you today might have changed by tomorrow. It can be complicated but as long as you make sure its unlimited and has no speed restrictions you should be good.


I would suggest going with Vodafone, it's who I am with and very rarely have no signal. They are also really good all around Europe. Here are 2 examples of deals that you should not choose because the restrict your download speeds. The one on the left restricts it to 2Mbps that is not even fast enough to watch a standard definition video. The one on the right restricts it too 10Mbps, this is fast enough for HD but not 4K or live streaming or gaming.



To be super fast and unlimited you really need your plan to say no speed restrictions or fastest possible speed. Like these two plans below, these two plans would be perfect for what we need it for. It's fast enough for 4k and gaming and much more. The one on the right is £6 more expensive but it includes an entertainment package that you can watch all you like now because your internet is so fast.

If £30 a month sounds like a lot to you or you have a bad credit history and can't take a phone contract you should check out this company. They have no speed restrictions, no credit checks and its only £22 per month at the time of writing this. The only reason I didn't go with them is I have no idea what their signal is like.

Once you everything has arrived it couldn't really be any easier to set up, and you're good to go for anything the internet can throw at you.



If you're thinking that does sound amazing but it really is overkill for me Im just one person streaming Netflix and looking on social media then maybe something like this would be better for you.

This is small mobile and a lot cheaper. you should have no problems steaming in HD on your laptop whilst watching Snapchat stories on your phone




For this there is no need for Antenna's especially if your just using it for small stuff. But you should still get yourself an unlimited sim only deal with no speed restrictions or you will struggle to do anything and your data will run out way before the end of the month
